6:30 AM — Sunrise hike at Calico Basin (or Red Rock if you're game)

Set an alarm. The Mojave at first light is the single best 60-minute experience in Las Vegas, and almost no Strip visitor knows it exists. Drive to Calico Basin — it's the free, no-reservation cluster of trails and boulders just before the Red Rock fee booth. Walk the Red Spring Boardwalk (0.5-mile loop, stroller-friendly) for sunrise reflecting off red sandstone, then scramble around the boulders for a half hour. Bring water — yes, even at 7 AM in May. Back in your car by 8:30.

Want more elevation? The Calico Hills First Pullout on the Red Rock Scenic Drive lets you scramble up red sandstone for as long as you want. The drive itself is a 13-mile one-way loop with a $20 timed-entry reservation Oct–May (book on recreation.gov the day before).

9:00 AM — Brunch in the village

Two strong options depending on your speed:

Speed-and-walk: Lola's Louisiana Kitchen at the Town Center & Charleston plaza — Cajun & Creole, generous portions, Sunday brunch with a New Orleans soundtrack. Walkable from most Summerlin Airbnbs.

Sit-and-linger: Hearthstone Kitchen & Cellar at Red Rock Casino — $25 bottomless brunch (mimosas, spritzes, bloodys) Sat–Sun 10 AM–2:30 PM. The fireplace, the wine cellar, and the staff who know what they're doing make this the locals' answer to a Strip hotel brunch.

11:00 AM — Springs Preserve

180-acre nature campus 10 minutes east. Trails, gardens, the Origen Museum (highly underrated), and the seasonal Butterfly Habitat (open through May 25 each year). Annual passes pay for themselves in two visits — if you're staying more than three days, get one.

1:30 PM — Lunch + air conditioning

It's hot. California Pizza Kitchen at Downtown Summerlin runs 50% off everything during their Mon–Fri 3–6 PM happy hour — show up at 3:00 PM if you can. Otherwise, True Food Kitchen at Downtown Summerlin is the cleanest meal in town and the closest you'll get to LA-anti-inflammatory cuisine in Nevada.

3:30 PM — Pool, spa, or shopping

Three options, all within 5 minutes:

Pool: Day pass to Red Rock Resort's Sandbar pool club. Adult pool, lazy river, full bar service. Best resort pool experience in Summerlin.

Spa: Aquae Sulis Spa @ JW Marriott. One of the few full-service spas in town that isn't attached to a casino. Pool + sauna + massage for under $200.

Shopping: Downtown Summerlin open-air village. Anchor stores, local boutiques, and a Las Vegas Ballpark next door if you want to catch the Aviators (Triple-A, tickets from $20).

6:30 PM — Dinner

Three tiers:

Walking-distance neighborhood: La Strega at Boca Park. Modern Italian, handmade pasta, wood-fired pizza. Reservations recommended Fri/Sat.

Date-night-grade: Echo & Rig at Tivoli Village. Butcher-shop steakhouse — Strip-quality cuts at non-Strip prices, and the bar is the most-energized room in Summerlin.

Splurge: Harlo Steakhouse at Downtown Summerlin. Tomahawks, a serious caviar program, and a wine list that would feel at home on the Strip. Worth the $200/head if you're celebrating something.

9:30 PM — A drink and a show

If it's Friday or Saturday, walk to Tivoli Village for free live music in the main piazza. Through May 29, the Friday version includes the Makers Hive Market 5–9 PM with vendors and food trucks.

If you want a casino vibe without going to the Strip: Hawthorn bar at the Resort at Summerlin or Lucky Bar at Red Rock Casino. Both have proper cocktail programs and the energy stays civilized past midnight.

If a real concert is calling, the Sphere, T-Mobile Arena, and Allegiant Stadium are all 12–14 miles east. No Doubt is residency-ing through June 13. See the headliners list.

11:30 PM — Last call

The Bar @ Trails Village is the closest neighborhood bar to most Summerlin Airbnbs (~1.1 mi from the village core). Open 24 hours, $3 drafts, late-night happy hour 12–2 AM. The right way to end the night without getting in a car.

The next morning

Saturdays 9 AM: Summerlin Farmers Market at Downtown Summerlin. Walkable from most Summerlin homes. Live music, local produce, prepared foods, dogs everywhere. Best free experience in town. Then you've earned brunch round 2.
