Visit Summerlin is a small, locally run site + a small mobile app. We don't run ads, we don't sell data, and we collect the absolute minimum needed to make the product work. If you stop using us, your data goes away — see "How to delete your data" below.
The website uses Vercel Web Analytics + Speed Insights, which records anonymous, aggregate page-view stats (URL, country, device class) without cookies and without any user-identifying tokens. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, ad-network pixels, or any third-party trackers.
If you submit a form (advertise inquiry, newsletter signup, venue submit-a-tip), the form contents are emailed to us via Formsubmit.co. We use those submissions only to reply to you. We don't enroll you in unrelated marketing.
Your browser may locally store a "where you are" preference (ZIP, address, or geolocation coordinates) when you tap the 📍 location pill on the site. That preference lives only on your device in localStorage — it never leaves your browser. Clear your browser's site data to remove it.
The app does only one thing: show you what's going on in Summerlin today and in the near future. Here's exactly what it collects:
If you grant the app location permission, your device's coordinates are used only on your phone to sort venues by distance. We never send your location to our servers. Decline the prompt — or revoke permission later in Settings — and the app still works; it just won't sort by distance. The app requests "while in use" permission only; we never request "always" permission.
If you enable the daily push, the app generates an Expo push token (a long random string from Apple/Google's notification system, not tied to your name, email, or Apple ID) and stores it on our servers along with your chosen push hour (e.g. 7 AM Pacific). We use it solely to send the once-a-day "what's happening today" summary at the time you picked. We do not use it for anything else and we never share or sell it.
The token is stored in a Supabase Postgres table behind a server-side API on visit-summerlin.com. Push delivery is handled by Expo Application Services, which forwards to Apple Push Notification service (APNs) on iOS and Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) on Android.
If the app crashes, an anonymous crash report (stack trace, OS version, app version) is sent to Sentry so we can fix it. The report does not include your location, push token, or any personal info.
Website: clear your browser's site data for visit-summerlin.com — that wipes the local location preference. Vercel's anonymous aggregates can't be tied to you, so there's nothing else on our side to delete.
App: turn off the daily push in the app's Settings, or uninstall the app. Either action stops the push and we can purge your token on request — email cpjets07@yahoo.com with the subject line "delete my push token" and we'll remove every row matching it from the database.
The app is rated 4+. We don't knowingly collect data from children under 13.
If we ever change what's collected, we'll update this page and bump the "Last updated" date at the top. Material changes (new data type, new third party) will also be announced in-app on next launch.
Questions, requests, or concerns: cpjets07@yahoo.com. We reply within 1 business day.
